Dr. Steven Posson, DO CCHP is a physician who provides expert opinions and testimony relevant to health care in prisons and jails.

Dr. Posson has experience in family medicine in the community for over 20 years, and in the carceral setting since 2013. He currently serves in a clinical administrative role in a large prison. He also provides direct patient care while managing 7 care teams.  Dr. Posson has experience in the administrative role in prison, decision support, medical peer review, and utilization management. He is a Certified Correctional Health Care Professional by the Commission on Correctional Health Care and has familiarity with their standards for health care in prisons and jails. Dr. Posson is board certified in family medicine as well as a subspecialist in Correctional Medicine. Dr. Posson is familiar with the care guides published by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, and those of the California Correctional Health Care Services.
